Sumitomo’s PSZ Turn system was developed to help customers achieve significant cost reductions by decreasing machine downtime, as well as help those looking for high precision and repeatability of the clamping head change (±0.0001") plus the tolerance of the insert.

This modular quick-change system for Swiss lathes helps customers facing challenges such as high setup effort for tool changes and poor accessibility when changing tools and inserts find solutions in the PSZ Turn. Some of its main features include good ergonomics and efficiency by offering a fast, reliable process and convenient cassette changes.

The PSZ Turn System is designed for multipurpose for all gang tool, multi-spindle lathes and consists of a diverse product lineup offering  front turning, grooving, thread cutting and back turning applications.

The company says the system delivers the same stability as monoblock systems for best process, reliability and reduced vibration. The system has internal coolant-through holders that deliver precise cooling directly on the cutting edge. The coolant-through holders also enable improved chip control and reliability.

The shanks for PSZ Turn is stocked in both inch and metric sizes, and both are suitable for all the heads offered in the program. For those customers seeking additional machining requirements, the PSZ Turn System also has gang plates available as a custom order item.
