The Advanced Automation Workholding Pump from Vektek includes a human machine interface (HMI), which enables program storage on Vektek’s Pump Controller. This interface displays the status of the on-demand pump, valve functions, pressure switch status and any possible faults.
The unit also comes with spare input/output, enabling additional sensors to be plugged in, gaining the options of monitoring other critical fixture status — such as pneumatic part presence sensing.
Vektek’s step-by-step process enables users to create a specific clamping program for both the clamping and unclamping procedures. This enables users to reduce M-codes and realize real cost savings. Vektek’s Pump Controller provides the ability to take one signal from the machine and perform more sophisticated clamping programs. This is intended to reduce the need for additional signals for each clamp function.
The Advanced Automation Workholding Pump can be run through a continuously connected rotary union or decoupled pallets, providing flexibility when setting up a machining application the way a user requires.
