Wolfram Manufacturing — a developer and integrator of advanced machine tool technologies — has acquired the XMC machine communication and analytics platform to expand its suite of machine monitoring and production management software solutions. The acquisition is said to expand the company’s suite of communication and analytic platforms to provide robust, scalable product offerings for shops of any size.
In April 2022, the company released its OnTakt software, which includes pre-built modules for machine monitoring and production management. It is said the software is well suited for small- and medium-sized shops looking to implement an easy to set up, all-in-one solution for managing a manufacturing floor. The XMC complements OnTakt as it enables manufacturers to collect, filter and route machine data to dashboards, factory apps and enterprise solutions.
“With decades of proven experience, XMC’s connectivity to machine tools and other data sources will immediately expand the capabilities of our OnTakt software by enabling OnTakt to be deployed faster across a much wider range of machine tool controls,” says Nathan Byman, president of Wolfram Manufacturing Technologies. “OnTakt, powered by XMC, will be an ideal machine monitoring and production management solution to enable small- and medium-sized manufacturers to make smart, rapid decisions.”
Wolfram will continue to support existing XMC customers and offer the XMC product line to the market. It is said XMC’s range of machine connectivity options are well suited for machine data collection, performance monitoring or integration with MES, ERP and QMS systems. Its high-frequency data capture and filtering capabilities are said to enable manufacturers to capture and route machine performance data to factory apps and enterprise level solutions.
