PMTS 2019 Recap
The 2019 Precision Machining Technology Show took place April 2-4, 2019 in Cleveland. Here’s a recap of the show.

For the first time, PMTS 2019 took place in a new venue—the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland, Ohio. The show opened April 2, 2019 and ran through April 4.
Exhibitors at PMTS showed technology specially targeted to the precision machining industry, including machine tools, cutting tools and other accessories. In its booth, Milltronics was displaying a VM3018IL vertical machining center.
Davenport Machine featured its hybrid machines at its PMTS 2019 booth. These machines are designed to provide the mechanical versatility of a multi-spindle machine with the versatility of a CNC machine.
In the Absolute Machine Tools booth, the company was showcasing a QuickTech i-42 Ultimate. It’s a 10-axis, twin-spindle mill-turn machine with dual B-axes.
Parts cleaning was a focus at PMTS 2019, with many exhibitors displaying technology to help companies meet cleaning requirements. One such exhibitor was Crest Ultrasonic, which was showcasing Solvac vapor degreasing units.
This Duro-A RC power chuck was in Röhm Products of America’s booth. The company says this quick-change jaw system can be changed, moved or turned in as little as 50 seconds.
MiJet’s booth included some of its parts cleaning equipment, such as this standalone parts washing system.
Thursday, April 4 was student day at PMTS. Students from local schools visited the show to learn about career opportunities and see the technology they would be using up close, including these metalworking fluids at Gates Engineered Lubricants’ booth.
PMTS hosted a series of Tech Talk presentations covering a range of topics for precision machining shops. Bill Hargrove of Heule Tool Corporation gave a presentation on deburring parts with cross holes.
PMTS also scheduled showfloor demos, during which attendees were also to see machines being demonstrated live. During one of these demos, Philip Judt (left) and Greg Knight (right) of Absolute Machine Tools showcased turning platforms.
PMTS 2019 was co-located with the 2019 Parts Cleaning Conference. Attendees participated in a range of sessions designed to help them stay up to date with the latest technology and regulations in the parts cleaning industry.

The Precision Machining Technology Show (PMTS) celebrated its 10th edition with a move to a new city (Cleveland) and a record number of exhibitors (more than 300). The show is the only one in North America that focuses on precision machining. Exhibitors displayed products specially geared toward the industry and gave live demonstrations of their technology, while experts gave presentations on practical subjects for shops in the Tech Talk theater. PMTS is co-located with the Parts Cleaning Conference, which helps shops stay on top of the latest cleaning regulations and technologies.
