Harmoni Solutions offers a touchscreen device users can connect to CNC machines using long-range RFID technology to perform time and machine data collection as well as optimize CNC operations by automatically detecting nearby employees and jobs. Having this information at hand is said to simplify the entry of time records into ERP systems, load the correct programs for the detected part revisions, and combine machine data with transactional data to provide a holistic view of shop capacity and performance.

Inexpensive, long-range RFID stickers are used on employee badges, job paperwork, tools, raw materials and more. Harmoni HMI devices installed at each machine’s CNC will pick up these stickers and use them to automate job time tracking with full integration to ERP systems; automatically present the appropriate work instructions, drawings and setup sheets; load programs, offsets and settings; and tie all of this together with the company’s spindle monitoring solution. The system can be used for advanced CNC machines as well as manual equipment, offering a common platform said to minimize wasted time and potential operator mistakes.
