Czech Out This New CNC Multi-Spindle
A new CNC multi-spindle is available in the U.S. for the first time. Manufactured in the Czech Republic, it has a long pedigree in Europe, but has been reletively unknown here--until now.
Multi-Spindle Offers Eight Independent Spindle Speeds
The MultiSigma 8 × 24 produces complex parts in one setup. Eight independent spindles allow for high flexibility, while an integrated robot allows for the automatic unloading of parts into a pallet. The machine is supplied with the latest motorspindles, featuring synchronous motors.
Multi-Spindle Production Center
The eight-spindle Mori-Say TMZ 867 CNC multi-spindle multifunction production center can accommodate barstock as large as 72 mm in diameter and can operate as an open-front chucker. The multi-spindle offers high precision CNC production capability to a range of part sizes that, until now, required other types of machines, such as rotary transfer machines, the company says. Provided with a double Siemens 840 D CNC, the machine offers as many as 72 CNC axes and can perform almost any metalcutting operation on precision parts including drilling, tapping, milling and hobbing.
Reinventing The Multi-Spindle's Spindle Drive
Applying CNC to a multi-spindle machine must deal with the problem of independently powering each of the main spindles. A machine, new to the North American market, overcomes this problem with a unique approach.
Investment Pays Off For Contract Shop
This shop added a CNC multi-spindle to its operation and reduced its cycle time and setup time.
Lights-Out Benefits
Here are some pointers for working towards successful untended operations.
Turning Toward The Future
This new machine tool represents the lastest in a new generation of CNC multi-spindle automatics. Its development was a clean sheet approach and the results are impressive.
Swiss Shop Shows Its Value
Open communication, preplanning and quality control go a long way in maximizing the productivity of this company’s Swiss machines.
Optics Maker Focuses On Flexible Production
Leupold & Stevens has found the key to successful precision machining. It operates more than 30 Index machines, primarily multifunction turning machines used to produce the bodies and tubes for the rifle scopes from aircraft-quality aluminum.
Want To Do Medical Work? Set Up To Perform
This Midwest manufacturer has found its niche in machining parts for the medical industry. Much of its success is attributable to its efficient use of single-spindle CNC turning centers. However, the company prefers to talk about what happens when the tool touches the metal, and let the results speak for themselves.
